PHTM Expo – HMRC Digital Platform Legislation

Steph FarrerNews, News 2025

The LPHCA organised a meeting with HMRC to emphasise the need for clarity and understanding for taxi and private hire vehicle operators and industry software suppliers regarding their obligations under Digital Platform Legislation.

We raised concerns regarding the confusion surrounding the definitions of operators and platforms, as well as the lack of clear guidance from HMRC. We also pointed out the widespread misunderstanding among operators about their reporting responsibilities, if any! Further details are on the link below.

We invited Gary Jacobs of Eazitax and Dave Lawrie of the NPHTA to join me on the call, and Dave has secured the attendance of HMRC at the PHTM Expo in Milton Keynes (see details on banner above).

Talks are on-going with HMRC and this seminar, on Wednesday 14th May, will give LPHCA Members and the wider trade the opportunity to get clarity on requirements.
