The 2019 LPHCA Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday 28th November at a private location in central London exclusively for LPHCA members and partners. We covered the existing challenges in London (but inevitably nationally too) on congestion charging, operator fees, air quality charges and the very serious threat with London’s 2020 Zero Emission Capable (ZEC) requirements.
We covered all the differing requirements for our industry such as: CCTV, signage, vehicle colours, advertising and branding, vehicle age limits, window Tint and emission criteria, english, and driving and topographical/knowledge tests. We also discussed the call for number caps and restrictive practices like the 'ABBA' proposal (restrictions on where you can operate from and to), as well as questionable proposals from British Airports to put exorbitant drop-off fees on us in just a few years’ time.
At the AGM, we outlined our plan of action and what we need members to do; the LPHCA plan is to continue our rapid national growth and form a very powerful national body that needs to punch its weight at government and local level.
